Walton High School student charged after confrontation with school security

A 17-year-old student, who police say was involved in a confrontation with Walton High School security, has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to the Department of Education, a police officer and a school safety agent stopped the student, asked him for ID and then told him to take his hat off. They say the student refused and became verbally abusive. Following the argument, officials say an officer sprayed mace at the student and placed him under arrest.

Students at the school tell a different story and say there has to be a better way to keep kids in line.

The teen must now attend a hearing to determine whether or not he should be suspended.
