Santa Claus makes his way through the Bronx on a motorcycle

Escorted by firefighters, police, and two Bronx riding clubs, The Latin Riders handed out gifts Saturday afternoon.

The Latin Riders and Santa Claus made stops at Bruckner Plaza and Holy Cross School to meet kids from the church and local shelter. The organizers of the annual event say they hope to inspire kids to believe in Christmas.

The Riders say they save a few bags of toys so they can make a stop to a battered womens shelter in Throgs Neck. Although they are not allowed inside, they say they make the delivery every year to ensure the kids have a merry Christmas too.
