Health experts offer advice for BX waist watchers during the holidays

Health experts say it is very easy for Bronx residents to over indulge when eating during the holidays. However, most agree there is no reason for people to deprive themselves during the season.

Some experts say people can gain anywhere from two to 10 pounds during the season. Experts agree that residents should try to maintain their weight during the holiday season instead of trying to lose it. They say people should eat a healthy snack before a holiday feast to avoid overeating.

Health experts also say people should control portions of food, limit high-calorie beverages and make an effort to exercise. Experts add that eating a lot of high-fiber foods will make people feel full and help reduce cravings for fattening foods.
