More than two-dozen Bronx residents arrested in alleged insurance scam

An alleged insurance scam has landed 31 Bronx residents in jail. The bust is the latest in a statewide crackdown. According to the attorney general, the scammers submitted about $500,000 in phony medical claims for staged accidents around the Bronx and Manhattan. Insurance regulators say the crackdown will end up lowering premiums for drivers all over the Bronx, city and state.
