A man has been charged with criminal trespassing after police say he ran into a Parkchester elementary school Thursday afternoon, which was placed on lockdown.
Police led Zenon Marte, 32, out of the Bronx Little School after school officials called them. Children were locked inside their classrooms for safety after reports of an intruder.
Helen Pena, whose grandson attends the school, says Marte ran down the hallway and locked himself inside an office. She also told News 12 The Bronx she heard Marte had been following little girls after school for over a week.
No children were harmed in the incident.
