One of the first babies of 2005 born in the Bronx as Times Square ball is dropped

(01/01/05) WOODLAWN - One of the first babies of 2005 was born in the Bronx.

There is a tie for the first baby of the New Year. Proud parents in Queens welcomed a little one, and Bronx parents Ingrid Santos and her husband Edwin also ushered in the New Year with their newborn son, Noah, at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Woodlawn.

Santos gave birth just as the ball was dropping in Times Square. Noah weighed in at seven pounds, seven ounces.

Mayor Bloomberg paid a visit to the newest Bronx resident and even gave his folks some advice on parenting. To honor the first baby born in 2005, Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center gave the Bronx baby a $1,000 bond.
