More Bronx schools make the grade on state?s annual report card
The state released its annual report card Tuesday and more Bronx schools are making the grade.
The Schools Under Registration Review (SURR) is put out every year and lists the schools that are under-performing in math and English. According to the list, children in the borough are doing better in those subjects.
PS-MS 315 in University Heights was one of the schools removed from the SURR list. The principal says the school improved because of more support from the Department of Education and collaboration between teachers and parents.
Only 16 Bronx schools are on the SURR list this year. In 2003, there were 18 on the list.
