Patients at a Bronx rehabilitation center claim director was fired unfairly
Patients of Beth Abraham Adult Day Care Center staged a protest Tuesday over the firing of the center's director.
Sarita Roy was the adult day care director for 10 years but was recently let go. Protesters say she was fired because she didn't agree with management's decision to have staff work on Christmas Eve without being paid overtime.
The patients say she helped with problems and even created friendship groups, which they enjoyed. So far approximately 100 people have signed a petition to get Roy's job back. They plan to show the signatures to the administration at an upcoming meeting.
Beth Abraham officials declined to comment on the situation.
