Members of 'Freeman Street Robbery Organization' indicted
Eleven members of the so-called 'Freeman Street Robbery Organization' have been indicted by the U.S. District Attorney's Office.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, the group used an apartment on Tremont Avenue to plan and coordinate its robberies against drug dealers in the New York area. The U.S. attorney says the group had its own network of spies that would tip off the organization about which drug dealers were vulnerable. The group is also accused of killing some of the drug dealers and impersonating police officers.
Franklin Minaya, Albert Castellano , Silvio Guerrero, Leonardo Pina, Reynaldo Pin, Pedro Moreta, Julio Cesar Rodriguez, Angel Oliveria, Luis Gomez, Bernabe Martinez and Haris Javier face life sentences. Some may even face the death penalty. Three of the men indicted are still being sought by authorities.
