Teachers at three Bronx Catholic schools stage another sickout

Students at three Bronx Catholic schools were once again left with substitutes Friday as teachers staged another sickout.

The three schools affected were St. Barnabas Elementary and High Schools and St. Theresa Elementary School. Students at St. Barnabas were the only ones to be dismissed early due to the sickout. Members of the Federation of Catholic School Teachers are still demanding a three-year contract with better wages and benefits. Most recently, the archdiocese offered a one-year contract.

Archdiocese officials say they are in the process of trying to schedule another meeting with the unions, but no date has yet been set.
