Snow and high winds create treacherous driving conditions in the Bronx

A blizzard warning is in effect for the Bronx until noon Sunday. Parts of the Bronx could see up to 20 inches of snow.

The snow started falling around noon on Saturday and is expected to continue until Sunday. Forecasters say the heaviest snow will be Saturday afternoon and evening. Then another secondary burst of snow will hit Sunday morning.

Wind gusts will become strong by Saturday evening through Sunday. Visibility will be very poor with whiteout conditions at times. It is recommended that people do not travel.

A coastal flood warning also remains in effect with tides expected to be two to four feet above normal.
