Some Parkchester residents hopeful L.S.K. will take its 'fowl' odor elsewhere

(01/29/05) PARKCHESTER ? News that the L.S.K. Smoked Turkey Products factory may be looking for a new home has some Parkchester residents ready to say good riddance.

The controversial factory has had a difficult coexistence with its neighbors. Residents have been complaining of foul odors, air pollution and traffic associated with the facility. A public outcry forced the city to step in, but some residents say not enough is being done to improve their quality of life.

L.S.K. recently installed a new air filtration system in the factory to help mask production odors. A spokesperson for L.S.K. says the company does not have definite plans to move, they are only scouting possible future locations.
