New York State tax-free week gets underway in the Bronx and city
Tax-free week kicked off Monday in the Bronx and city, giving residents a chance to save some money.
The state and city lifted the sales tax for clothing and shoes under $110. So for every hundred dollars residents spend, they save nearly $9. Tax-free week comes twice a year, and storeowners hope it will boost sales during the slow winter season.
Tax-free week runs until Sunday. If you miss your chance to save this time around, the next opportunity will be in September.
