City cutting ties with two more foster care agencies in effort to overhaul system
A Bronx foster care agency is just one of the agencies the city has decided to cut ties with in an effort to overhaul the system.
City officials are ending contracts with two more agencies including one in Brooklyn and a Bronx agency run by the Administration for Children's Services. City officials say years of low performance by the agencies is part of the reason for the cuts.
The city has also put 10 other agencies, including Family Support Systems Unlimited in the Bronx, up for review. News of additional contract cuts comes just one month after the city ended its relationship with St. Christopher's in the Bronx. The city claimed the agency had unsavory practices, which included falsifying documents.
