Bronx mother accused of repeatedly beating two young sons

A 23-year-old Bronx mother was arrested Tuesday night after police say her two young sons were found badly beaten.

According to police, Everline Whitick is being charged with first-degree assault for beating her 7-year-old and 5-year-old sons. The Administration for Children?s Services says they received an anonymous call Sunday that the children were being beaten. A case worker tried to find the boys Monday but was only able to find the older boy at school Tuesday with bruises on his body.

When police took Whitick into custody in her apartment on Webster Avenue, they also found her 5-year-old son covered with bruises and cuts on his back and legs.

Both children were taken to Lincoln Hospital for treatment. One of the boys still remains in the hospital, while the other was placed into foster care.
