Mott Haven rink reopens after being shut down for selling booze to minors

A popular roller rink in Mott Haven reopened Monday after being shut down by police for selling alcohol to minors.

Skate Key, which has been closed since February 4, must now follow certain guidelines set forth by the court. The rink has also been the scene of shootings with the latest incident happening in April 2004. Managers of the rink say they shouldn't be responsible for what happens outside their rink.

The managers say anyone who had an event scheduled during the time it was closed will get a refund. They are due back in court Wednesday to go over certain guidelines, including what hours the rink can operate and whether Skate Key can serve alcohol.
