Bronx and city public schools awarded $32 million grant to create smaller schools
A new grant will give more than $32 million to small high schools in the Bronx and the city. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation together awarded the grant to New York City public schools on Tuesday. The money will be used to create 35 small schools. New statistics have shown higher attendance rates at smaller schools. New York City Schools Chancellor Klein says about 13,000 students will enroll in the new schools in the fall.
