Sanitation workers, volunteers working to keep Bronx, city streets clean

Sanitation workers and volunteers have been working to keep the Bronx and city streets clean.

According to Mayor Bloomberg, the city streets are the cleanest they?ve been in 30 years. And several Bronx neighborhoods, including Kingsbridge, University Heights, Concourse Village and Mount Eden, have seen the biggest improvements.

Thousands of volunteers have helped sanitation workers pick up more than 92 tons of trash off of New York streets in the last year. The mayor is urging all residents to help out the sanitation department by shoveling snow off the sidewalks or even just picking up a piece of garbage on the street.
