Some Bronx residents feel officials are getting special parking privileges

Some Bronx residents said Thursday they believe some officials are getting special treatment when it comes to parking around the 161 Street courthouse.

Last week News 12 The Bronx reported the city of New York was illegally towing parked vehicles surrounding the courthouse. People in the neighborhood say police cars and vehicles belonging to court officials continue to block traffic and sometimes limit access to fire hydrants. Residents believe vehicles with official placards have special privileges in the surrounding blocks.

The Community Board 4 district manager says that more enforcement is necessary and plans to meet with the commander of the 44th precinct in the near future.
