Two teachers, six students at New School for Arts and Sciences arrested

Police arrested two teachers and six female students at the New School for Arts and Sciences after a fight broke out Tuesday morning.

All eight were were charged with disorderly conduct and issued criminal summonses. Police say the two teachers were taken into custody because they tried to stop them from arresting the students. One student was injured in the fight. She was treated and released from Lincoln Hospital.

The Department of Education says it is still investigating the matter, but at this time it believes the teachers were just trying to break up a fight and did not mean to confront police.
