Bronx high school students take new SAT test

Bronx high school students join students across the country in taking a new SAT exam. The new exam has changed to have more emphasis on grammar and math.

The new test is now 45 minutes longer and goes beyond basic algebra and geometry and includes some algebra two. A new portion of the test will be an essay. Students will have 25 minutes to take a position on a given topic, but unlike the multiple-choice questions, students are unsure how the essay portion will be graded.

The perfect score has been changed from 1600 to 2400. Bronx students will be able to find out how they did on the Internet by April 11 and scores will be mailed out on April 18.
