City Council to vote on legislation that will track cell phone towers in the Bronx

Cell phone towers are popping up on rooftops all over the Bronx and many residents don?t even know they are there. Cell phone companies pay thousands of dollars each month to put cell phone towers on roofs. Residents who are aware of the towers say they are concerned about what affects they might have on their health. A proposed bill wouldn?t limit the number of towers, but would require the city to keep track of how many are in one neighborhood and who they belong to. Cell phone companies are against the legislation. The City Council is scheduled to vote on the bill Wednesday.
