Local task force takes action to help curb graffiti problem in Pelham Bay

After some Bronx residents recently complained of growing problems with graffiti in their neighborhood, a local task force is taking action to help curb the problem. On Friday, State Senator Jeffrey Klein?s (D-Bronx) Graffiti Task Force hit some local streets to remove the graffiti. State Assemblyman Michael Benedetto (D-Bronx) will also propose a special sales tax on spray-paint cans and permanent markers next week. The extra money would go toward clean up efforts. In the meantime, the head of the local community board says he'd also like to see more arrests made to cut down on repeat offenders.
