New report shows subway delays on the rise in the Bronx

A new report shows that subway delays are on the rise and many Bronx residents say they are noticing a difference.

A recent report shows a rise in subway delays over the past 18 months. Some Bronx residents say it is unfair the transit authority still makes you pay $2 when there are several delays. The increased delays come after many years of improvements. The transit authority says there are many reasons for the delays such as signal troubles and increased reports of suspicious packages.

The report shows in January subway riders had a 1 in 28 chance of being on a delayed train, now many Bronx residents say those numbers are too high and something needs to be done. The transit authority also reports that sometimes it is riders that cause delays, such as a sick passenger.
