Many commuters say finding parking on East Tremont Avenue is a problem

Business owners and residents along a stretch of East Tremont Avenue in Parkchester say there is hardly any free parking. Some residents say the old Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office is partly to blame. They say when the office opened, parking meters went up in the neighborhood. But when it closed, years ago, the meters stayed. DMV officials were contacted about the parking meters, but have yet to respond. Residents also say the pedestrian crosswalk on East Tremont Avenue is poorly marked, causing tickets for unknowing drivers.
