Bronx father charged with homicide in death of 2-year-old son

A Bronx father has been charged with homicide after his 2-year-old son died in a bathtub Tuesday night.The boy?s father, 25-year-old Angelo Vanderpool, originally told police that he left the child alone for a moment and when he returned the boy had drowned. Upon investigation, the medical examiner found the child had been beaten and bruised before being submerged in the water. The child was taken to Montefiore Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Officials from the Administration for Children's Services say they have no record of abuse at the home.
