Bronx AIDS Services opens new HIV center in Longwood

Bronx AIDS Services opened a new center on Southern Boulevard Thursday that will focus on the prevention and education of HIV and AIDS. The facility is the fourth to open in Longwood. The director says they need to expand to accommodate the growing number of Bronx residents living with HIV. The center will also offer several educational programs and a safe haven area to allow people to meet and talk freely about the disease. The new center also has two mobile units that will drive around the Bronx offering free HIV and AIDS testing.
