Bronx residents mourn the loss of Pope John Paul II

Many Bronx Catholics mourned the death of Pope John Paul II Sunday.

Many Bronx residents say they felt a special connection to the 84-year-old pontiff. Many Bronx Catholics gathered in Allerton?s Saint Lucy?s church to pray for the pope. Many of the faithful say Pope John Paul II united people and reached across the world to touch so many.

The morning?s service was quiet and somber as Bronx residents reflected and remembered. Saint Lucy?s Church will be holding its regular services Sunday and will remain open for prayer.
