Catholic school closures will allow students to remember Pope John Paul II

(04/07/05) THE BRONX ? All Catholic schools in the Bronx will be closed Friday so students can reflect on the life and death of Pope John Paul II.

A spokesperson for the Archdiocese of New York says students throughout the Bronx have been learning about the pope all week. According to the archdiocese representative, the day off will give students a chance to absorb everything they?ve learned about the late leader of the church. The pope's funeral will be held Friday.

Parents say they were not surprised to hear of the closures. Many feel it will be a good time to discuss the pope?s life with their children.
