Spring is in the air, sending many Bronx residents outdoors

Many Bronx residents say spring is in full bloom and spent most of Saturday outdoors.

Little leaguers took to the fields to launch the year?s baseball season. The 49th annual Van Nest Little League Parade marked the start of spring for many Bronx residents. Meanwhile, others spent time planting trees and flowers. Volunteers helped with the John Muir Beautification Project held by the Friends of Van Cordlandt Park.

Several Bronx residents say they are so relieved spring weather is here, hopefully to stay. Meanwhile, many Bronx little leaguers will keep busy this season with three games a week. Friends of Van Cordlandt Park will also spend a lot time outside and plan to hold more springtime cleanup events until the end of April.
