City Council report aimed at improving schools in the Bronx and city

Improving schools in the Bronx and city is the main focus of a new City Council report. The report suggests offering better incentives for teachers, including a salary increase of up to 23 percent for teachers in low-performance schools. Nearly 60 percent of all Bronx schools fall in that category and have trouble recruiting good teachers. The report also shows that many classrooms have at least 30 students and recommends that class sizes be capped. The changes in the report are only recommendations and its doesn't mean that any changes will be made. The City Council must make the proposal to the mayor.
