Local program helps Bronx residents deal with the murder of a loved one
A local program is available to help Bronx residents cope after the murder of a loved one. Families and friends of murder victims who find it hard to deal with the pain and grief are not alone. As a way for these victims to express their feelings, the Bronx district attorney?s office and Safe Horizon run a free group that meets weekly. At the meetings, people in pain can talk with others and share their stories. They aren?t offered advice, just a place to express their frustration, pain and even anger. Many say it helps talking to people who understand what they have been through. Experts say victims shouldn't rush the healing process, which could take many years.
