Bronx Independent Living Services offers support for disabled victims of crime

They're among the most vulnerable crime victims, and in many cases they cannot fully defend themselves or even call out for help. The Bronx Independent Living Services Center offers people with mental and physical disabilities a place to express their feelings about what they?ve experienced as a crime victim. The center also provides support for everyday life skills that a disabled person, traumatized by a crime, may have trouble doing themselves. Many victims at the center say they were relieved to find a center dedicated to disabled people.
