Yankees getting closer to building new Bronx stadium

The New York Yankees are getting closer to building a new stadium in the Bronx.

The new stadium will be built in Macombs Dam Park, across the street from the current stadium. It will have 30,000 seats at field level and 20,000 in the upper tiers, which is less than the current stadium. The $800 million stadium will be paid for by the Yankees.

The city and state will pay an extra $300 million for a new Metro-North station and parking facilities.
