Bronx residents urged to follow one of 12 new food pyramids

The federal government has issued a new food pyramid that emphasizes working out as much as it emphasizes a healthy diet. There are now 12 pyramids that Bronx residents can follow and exercise is included in each one. The pyramids are based on dietary guidelines that came out in January of this year. The government recommends residents work out 60 minutes a day to prevent weight gain and 90 minutes to lose extra pounds. The new pyramids include preferred foods like grains, vegetables and milk. Americans are now encouraged to tailor their diet and exercise to their specific needs.
