New reports confirms that the Bronx has the dirtiest subway lines in the city

A new report confirms that the Bronx has the dirtiest subway lines in the city. Now, the New York Public Interest Group Straphangers Campaign is calling on the MTA to clean up its act. Overall, only 61 percent of the city cars on 22 lines passed the cleanliness test. That means there were no empty bottles, only minimal dirt and no food or beverages spilled on the floor. The 1 and 9 lines were found to be the dirtiest in the city, after 85 percent of the cars failed the test. Straphangers say the MTA cut its cleaning budget and is trying to do more with less.
