Bronx Terminal Market merchants say they won?t leave on the eviction date

Bronx Terminal Market is scheduled to close on April 30, but merchants say they don?t plan on leaving.

The eviction is to clear the way for a retail space. Merchants say they have filed complaints with the city and hired lawyers to keep them from being forced to close. The new developer plans to build a new retail company they say will create hundreds of new jobs. Bronx Borough president says he wants to protect the merchants but has no plans. Merchants say the market supports small entrepreneurs and restaurants.

The merchants say they are not against development, but the want to be included in the plans.
