Bronx tenants using subsidized housing could be living in dangerous conditions
Bronx tenants using subsidized housing could be living in dangerous conditions, according to a report released Monday. Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum released a report on city housing subsidies that says landlords often neglect making necessary repairs. The report shows that many houses fail to meet certain standards. Peeling paint, no window guards and uncovered electrical outlets were seen in many of the homes. Officials from the Department of Homeless Services say they have an inspection protocol in place and have not yet seen the report.
