Service restored on No. 6 train in the Bronx after water main break

Service on the northbound No. 6 train was restored Wednesday afternoon after a water main break in the Bronx.

The water main break occurred on the corner of East 140th St. and Bruckner Boulevard and interrupted subway service for hours. Six local businesses are without water. The Office of Emergency Management says there is no problems with the drinking water.

Part of the Bruckner Boulevard will remain closed while crews cut open the street to make repairs on the water valve. Officials do not know what caused the water main to break. There is no timeline for when the repairs to Bruckner Boulevard will be completed.

sorry to interrupt
