Dozens of Bronx residents take part in walk for Child Abuse Prevention Month

A group of Bronx residents took to the streets Thursday to voice their support for child abuse awareness. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and dozens of children and adults walked throughout Morrisania carrying banners and handing out leaflets to inform people about prevention.Women?s Housing and Economic Development Corporation, a Bronx group that assists low-income women and children, sponsored the event, which was also a fundraiser to help prevent child abuse New York. Parents who want more information about child abuse or need counseling should call 1-800-CHILDREN.
