Cardinal Spellman girls beat Walton to win Uptown Softball Classic

The Cardinal Spellman girls softball team beat Walton 8-3 Thursday to win the Uptown Softball Classic finals.

Walton defeated Curtis in the semifinals, and Spellman took care of Francis Lewis to set up the showndown.

The Lady Falcons had a 2-0 lead in the first three innings thanks to runs scored by Victoria Galasso and Althea Chambers. Walton then got on board with Glenis Sia Sosa and Gipsys Rodriguez scoring a run each.

Lady Falcons? Karissa Lando later hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to help seal the victory.
