Bronx parents urged to make sure window guards are properly installed

After a young boy recently fell four floors from his Davidson Avenue apartment, Bronx parents are urged to make sure window guards are properly installed.Buildings with three or more families are required to have window guards in the apartments where children 10 years old or younger are living, except for windows that have fire escapes. New York City Department of Health officials say landlords must give tenants a form to fill out to request the guards and tenants are required by law to return it. From that point, it's the landlord's responsibility to buy and install the window guards and they must meet Department of Health standards.
