Bronx organizations hope to raise asthma awareness during World Asthma Day

Tuesday is World Asthma Day and several Bronx health organizations have events planned to raise asthma awareness in the borough. Bronx residents account for one-third of all asthma related hospital visits in the city. Officials also say hospital visits from Bronx children suffering from asthma have doubled in the past 15 years. Residents are urged to attend one of the asthma fairs taking place in Hunts Point or the Mount Eden Mall. Health officials will offer tips on asthma prevention and how to keep a home safe for asthma suffers.
