Bronx court has become a model for handling domestic violence cases
One court system in the Bronx has become a model for handling domestic violence cases statewide. The Integrated Domestic Violence Court on 161st Street started out as a pilot program in 2001. Workers say the reason for the court's success is streamlining the court process so it is more user friendly for families facing traumatic times and situations. Another court based on the Integrated Domestic Violence Court is said to be opening in Brooklyn.
