Renovations underway at several neighborhood parks in the Bronx

Bronx residents in Community District 7 will soon be enjoying newly renovated neighborhood parks. The city?s Department of Parks promised $1.7 million worth of improvements for Bronx parks. In exchange, residents in the district agreed to have the water filtration plant build in Van Cortlandt Park. The parks slated for renovations are Devoe Park, Williamsbridge Oval Park, St. James Park and Poe Park. Residents, however, say there are more Bronx parks in need of renovations. According to the non-profit group New Yorker's For Parks, the worst park in the city is University Woods located in University Heights.
