Bronx residents work together to clean up local parks

Bronx residents pitched in to clean up local parks as part of the tenth annual It?s My Parks Day.

Volunteers spent most of their Saturday hard at work. Workers picked up trash, painted birdhouses and planted flowers. Organizers of the event say they hope residents realize the importance of maintaining the area?s parks.

It?s My Park Day takes place twice a year. Last year nearly 700 Bronx residents volunteered for the day?s events.
