Memorial Day celebrated early with parade in the Bronx

Memorial Day was celebrated early in the Bronx Sunday with a parade led by the Latin Riders and the Blue Knights.

Bronx veterans and residents lined the neighborhood streets to pay an early tribute to men and women who died while fighting for their country?s freedom. The Castle Hill Little League displayed American pride by marching in the parade.

Veterans say Memorial Day parades are a history lesson that needs to be retold every year. They also say troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are in their thoughts and prayers.
