Two Bronx teams square off in Catholic League Class A Baseball section finals

It was an all-Bronx as Cardinal Hayes took on St. Ray?s in the Catholic League Class A Baseball section finals. Fourth-seeded Cardinal Hayes was coming off its best season in more than a decade. Eighth-seeded St. Ray?s, who fought an uphill battle all season, manage to squeak into the finals. St. Ray?s tied the game at four and then scored two additional runs in the fourth inning. But it wasn?t enough, as Cardinal Hayes came back in the fifth and took an 8-6 lead. Cardinal Hayes eventually won by a score of 9-6.
