Bronx runners brave the heat for Riverdale Ramble
Nearly 200 runners from the Bronx braved the heat Sunday to participate in the Riverdale Ramble.
Many runners say the Ramble is one of the toughest 10K road races in New York City because it is known for its hilly terrain. Participants said despite the hot weather, they were ready for the challenge. Runners say they trained long for the race but the hills were still a big challenge.
Riverdale resident Steve Marsalese finished the 6.2-mile course in 36 minutes and 21 seconds. The Van Cortlandt Track Club hosted the race.
