Drivers will soon see more parking, less traffic congestion at Fordham University
Fordham University officials broke ground on a new regional parking facility Friday. Traffic congestion around the university has been a long-standing problem in the Bronx. Now, borough and university leaders hope the new facility will help ease the problem. Administrators say more than 1,000 spaces will provide short and long-term parking. They say it will meet the needs of the university and the public. The structure is being built at the southeastern part of the Rose Hill Campus. Once complete, shuttle service will be provided to and from the university. The parking lot is expected to open in 2006.
